Tawakkalna App Explained: Registering, Digital Documents and Reminders in Saudi Arabia
Most people in Saudi Arabia have heard of Tawakkalna, but many use only a small part of it. Often called the National Super App, it is described on the official site as the comprehensive national app that brings government services, information, documents and publications together in one place, for citizens, residents and visitors.
This guide explains who can register, how sign-in works, what you can see in the app and what to do when something is missing or wrong. It is based on the official Tawakkalna pages run by the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA).
Quick answer
Short answer: Citizens and residents with an Absher account can register in Tawakkalna with their ID details, and the app uses the mobile linked in Absher. Visitors and GCC nationals register with their passport or GCC ID. Sign-in can use Nafath. The app holds your digital cards and documents, adds reminders for government documents automatically, and has a “correct your data” service. It is a mobile app only; there is no web version.
Who can use Tawakkalna
According to the official FAQ, citizens, residents, visitors and GCC nationals can all register and use the app’s services. The way you register depends on which group you are in.

How to register
The steps differ for residents and visitors.
Registering in Tawakkalna
1
Download the official app from your phone’s official app store and check the publisher is SDAIA.
2
Citizens and residents with Absher: choose new registration and enter your ID details. The app uses the mobile registered in Absher.
3
No Absher account yet: the FAQ says someone already registered in Tawakkalna must first link your mobile through the “Certify Mobile Number” service in the app.
4
Visitors and GCC nationals: register with your passport or GCC ID, nationality and date of birth, and enter your mobile.
5
Verify and set a password: enter the code sent to your phone and create a strong password.
If you use the Nafath app, the official site says you can sign in by confirming the code shown in Tawakkalna inside Nafath. Our Nafath guide explains how to approve logins safely.
Your documents and cards
The official homepage says the app puts your documents and personal cards in one place, so you do not need to carry them all. You can view them and, where the issuing agency allows, download them as a file to share.
Two points from the FAQ are worth knowing:
- Documents download in whatever languages the issuing agency provides. Not every document has an English version.
- If a document will not display, the FAQ says the service is unavailable at the issuing agency and will be restored.
You can also hide or show cards on your “Personal” page.
| Task | Usually start in |
|---|---|
| Renewing an iqama or issuing a visa | Absher |
| Viewing your cards and documents in one place | Tawakkalna |
| Approving a government login | Nafath |
| Getting reminders before documents expire | Tawakkalna (automatic) |
For the services you actually renew or apply for, see our Absher services guide and how to check and renew your iqama.
Reminders and notifications
The FAQ says reminders about government documents, such as your ID or passport, are added for you automatically. You do not need to set them up.
Notifications from individual agencies can be switched on or off from that agency’s page in the app. If you rely on reminders, keep notifications on for the agencies that matter to you.
When your data is missing or wrong
Sometimes education or employment records look incomplete. The FAQ points to two routes: the in-app “correct your data” service, or the agency that holds the record.
If your cards do not appear on an agency’s page, the FAQ says the system refreshes automatically. Moving between sections, or leaving and returning, can help it update.
Tip
Before you travel or start a new job, open Tawakkalna and check that your key documents display correctly. It is easier to fix a gap at home than at a counter.
Warning
Use only the official app and official Saudi government websites. Never share your password or verification codes with anyone, even someone who says they are helping with your account.
